Weather
2 hour slow ride with Mike and Taylor at Al Sabo on the Rig on Tuesday in shorts and a jersey.
Today, I rode 3 hours on the Kal-Haven trail on the Rig. The wind was strong out of the East and it was snowing pretty hard with temps in the upper 20s. The snow was blowing hard enough that on my way back the trail was completely covered and I couldn’t see my tracks from going out. I rode to Bloomingdale without seeing another person or feeling my fingers or toes. On the way back to Gobles, I noticed another biker up ahead and thought it may be Mike J. I had passed him several times during the winter and there just aren’t a lot of riders that ride on the trail when it snows. Since my speed was over 20 MPH for several miles, I knew it was a strong rider. I finally caught up with him outside of Kendall and it was Mike. We talked for a while about Trans Iowa, the Wednesday night ride, and the race season. He turned off past Alamo and I finished the ride back to the parking lot.
I am starting to get a cold; I can only hope it is gone in a couple weeks. Tomorrow is a much needed rest day.
